Michael Crawford

As the NDP candidate in the 2006 election, I increased our vote by more than 3,000 over the 2004 election. I ran again in 2008, increasing the vote by more than 3,000 again to almost 20,000.

I am actively involved in the community working on projects to ensure public utilities are not sold off to corporations, organizing and delivering public education on issues of democracy and citizenship, volunteering to help improve the lives of those in our community who need a hand up, and making sure our air and water are clean.

I teach at Thompson Rivers University where I am Chair of the Social Work Department.

I have undertaken research and have published in the areas of homelessness, ethics, and family violence.

I have lived in Kamloops since 1991 with my wife Ila. I have two children.
